Excavator opening a service trench

One trench, every service.

Opening the ground once saves time and money. We excavate shared trenches for drainage, water, power and telecommunications to the depths and separations each service requires.

We work with your electrician, plumber and network providers so each service goes in on time.

Trenches are bedded, backfilled and compacted properly, leaving the site ready for the next stage.

Frequently asked questions

Can you trench for power, water and fibre as well as drainage?

Yes. We dig shared trenches for all services and work with the relevant trades and network providers.

Do you supply your own machinery?

Yes. We own and operate our own excavators, so we’re not waiting on hire availability.

Do you backfill and compact the trench?

Yes. Trenches are bedded, backfilled and compacted to the required standard.

How do I book trenching?

Call 0800 223 332 or email admin@discountdrainage.co.nz with the site details and we’ll arrange a time.

Groundwork for 26 homes at Oliver Grove

Before a single house went up at Oliver Grove in Halswell, we had already finished the excavation and drainage for all 26 homes.

Every service lines right the first time.

Several service lines in one trench, each with its own fittings and connections, and every one had to be right before the site could be built on.

Drainage on a hillside overlooking the estuary

A steep residential site with the foundations already underway, where the drainage had to be planned around the slope.
